Bang! Bang! Bang!

I don’t believe this. I wanted nothing more than to sleep in today, but at 7:30am I hear what sounds like eight people milling about upstairs. I figure it can’t last long and they’ll all have to go off to work or whatever and I’ll be able to get some sleep again.

Fifteen minutes later, BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Someone’s hammering something. More than just hanging a picture too since it’s so powerful that it’s making my glasses in the kitchen rattle. “What the hell is going on?”
I get up to investigate. I look out the kitchen window and see part of the window frame fall from upstairs. Walking out front, I can see a contractor’s truck parked out front and some sort of sawing machine on the front lawn. Apparently they’re having their kitchen window replaced for some reason. I wander back to bed and stick my head under a pillow. It didn’t help.

About 15 minutes after that, I realize they’re not just replacing the kitchen window. Now they’re doing a window directly above my bedroom. YOU BASTARDS! Isn’t there some law about making excess noise before 9am or something? There should be. Since it’s now impossible for me to attempt sleep, I turn on the TV and watch Digimon. By the time it ends, the noise seems to have ceased.

…but now they’re apparently replacing every damn window up there. I wasn’t able to sleep for more than 10 or 15 minutes at a time after that. I’m still exhausted and need sleep, but I can’t. Too much noise.

So now I’m wondering why they get new windows and if I will too. I was supposed to get a new kitchen floor when I moved in too and that was a month and a half ago! I’ll have to bug the landlord about that.
