Wormtown, Apples, and Lemonade: Haunted by the past
I got back from the Fall Party in Worcester. It was nice and I had a good time. They had lots of apples…apple pie, caramel apples, apple fondue, apple cider, and lots more.
Derek dug out the videotape of our “Lemonade Stand 2000” presentation for our Software Engineering class. I think that was our senior year at WPI. Seeing myself scared the crap out of me. I looked like a huge geek! I had a short-sleeve white dress shirt with a crappy tie. We all were in serious need of haircuts (which wasn’t surprising since it was the end of the term) and everyone with glasses had big, round glasses. …and to make it worse, my presentation skills sucked. I said, “Um…” a lot and I never looked up.
Anyway, that embarassed the hell out of me…not for other people seeing the tape, but that I actually looked like that. Why didn’t anyone slap me upside the head and say something? Ugh. I hope I’m not that bad anymore and that in 2007 I won’t be embarassed about how I look now. I mean, if it was 20 years, that’s one thing…but only 6 or 7 years? Yikes!
At least I know my presentation skills have improved.
Anyway, I like the new CD I made for the car. Some good driving music on there…including Saliva’s Spy Hunter theme from the PlayStation 2 game. It makes me want to drive around aimlessly and listen to it over and over.
