My brain is tired
I hope that headhunter calls back on Monday. I really can’t put up with Painville any longer. I did about 2 hours of work there today, but I had to wait for him to get back before I could take off…and he didn’t come back until about 4 hours after I finished…and I only get paid for the time I work.
At the end of the day, he was telling me about this elaborate shopping cart database system that he promised a client that I would build. It’s hundreds of hours of work (especially since I’ve never actually created a secure shopping cart system before). I really don’t want to do it. I’ve gotta get out of there before he gets me stuck doing that.
He even asked about my weekend plans and wondered if I’d be working on his stuff over the weekend. I told him I’d be out in Worcester all day tomorrow (which is true). I should have made up some excuse for Sunday too. I said I wouldn’t be able to meet Monday (since I’m hoping to have that phone interview for the company in Andover), but I’ll probably have to go back Tuesday. Maybe then I’ll tell him I have no intention of doing that huge shopping cart site or working for him on a permanent basis. I can put up with a lot of crap, but I can only take so much. I might have said something today if I wasn’t so tired…and completely surprised that he’d even promise such a huge site that seems impossibly complex to build.
Kathy and Joe should be here at 9:00-ish. We’ll stay up all night until I have to drive them to the airport around 3:30 or 4:00am for their flight to Hong Kong.
I think I’ll go take a nap for an hour before they get here. I didn’t get enough sleep last night.
