[Image of the Deep 13 Set] Deep 13 was open for people to walk through, touch, and lick (if so desired). The rock walls are actually separate pieces which can be easily moved around. The back of the walls reveal chicken wire and lots of wood. Although the Umbiliport was chained shut, MSTies were welcome to push the button...any of them. Lots of the keys on the mads' console were missing. I'm not sure if they were always missing or if some evil MSTies wanted their own souvenier button.

Here are some pictures of the Deep 13 set.

Yes...that's me in the door.

After everyone got in the room, we were treated to a short video of Mike and Kevin showing us around the Satellite of Love and Deep 13 sets. They showed the operation of the hexfield viewscreen and what it looks like behind the desk (including the puppeteer trench and a place for Mike to stand). As for Deep 13, they told us how the Deep 13 set is moved aside, theater seats are dragged out, and the movie is filmed there against a blank wall. They watch themselves and the movie on a monitor on the floor in front of them.
I suspect we were allowed to walk around the Deep 13 set because it won't be used again. Although they didn't confirm or deny this, my guess is that Deep 13 is non-existant in season 8.

Move into the writing room...
