6648 You've entered yourself in the cross-country off-road race. You know there's nothing to stop you from winning if you're driving the Lego Dune Buggy!
The dune buggy features running lights, an antenna, tail-fin, and a nice suspension system. This particular dune buggy, number 5, is sponsored by our friends at Octan. They're confident in your ability as a driver and believe you're unstopable. They're right.

This 1992 dune buggy is one of my favorite Lego sets of all time! I ordered it from Shop at Home because it had some neat pieces which were visible in the January 96 catalog's picture. Suspension wheels, windshield, angled hood... When I got it and ripped open the (possibly foreign) box, I was suprised to find an original Blacktron torso. I didn't think they were used anymore. After comparing it to an actual Blacktron 1 torso, I noticed the printing wasn't as white...but I don't care! Now I've got ANOTHER Blacktron figure! Woo hoo!
Anyway, that's just one neat thing. I love the way the duny buggy can roll along and give the mini-fig a relatively smooth ride over most terrain. The suspension system works great!
My only complaints are that the flag sticker that wraps around the red antenna refuses to stick on. I'll dab some glue and that should hold it for good. The other complaint is that the "Octan" is printed on the rear spoiler. I didn't put the Octan and "5" stickers on the front because I liked it better without them...and I wish the spoiler was plain white too.
There's not too much else to say other than it's a great model and that if you're a town or space collector, you should own it. Get it. Now. If you're into some other line of Lego products, take a look at this set...you might find it interesting.
