6266 The destruction of the ruins of a 200 year old fort had been halted. The general of the Royal Navy of Britain's son had requested it to be a play area for he and his friends. Permission was granted, demolition was canceled.
The boy spent nearly every minute of spare time there; exploring the ruins and playing in the cave located next to them. One day, he and one of his friends discovered a cannon that looked like it might still fire. Next to it was a barrell of powder that still had a remaing ounce or two left inside.
The two boys rolled the cannon outside on rusty wheels and loaded the remaining powder into it. A small cannonball was also discovered to be inside of the barrell of powder. The two just had to test it. One went looking for a torch while the other made sure everything was positioned right.
When one of the boys came bounding back with a lit torch in hand, he tripped and knocked the cannon in the direction of the Royal Naval Headquarters, while the torch flew into the air and brushed against the fuse...

Cannon Cove is one of the best Pirate sets of all time, in my opinion. It is a small fort with a ton of white bricks and other pieces that has no equal in the way of design. It is nearly a Castle set in construction, but it is a very nice Pirate set as well.
The building consists of a small downstairs room that holds a cannon. The cannon can shoot out of a large yellow window made of some 3x1x1 slopes, four 1x1x1 cylinders, and a 6x1x1 arch. Another window is also in one of the walls. It is a 2x1x3 train window (without the glass). Two clips can hold additional swords. The upstairs balcony (there is actually a ladder ot get there) is completely open and serves as a watch tower. A Castle tower top that is bent in two places serves as the centerpiece, while the rest of the roof is bordered with 2x2 bricks.
Next to the fort is a small BURP (Big Ugly Rock Piece) that has a supposedly hidden jail. The jail was a very nice thought for a set this size, because it is not the set's main feature (ie: Lagoon Lock-up and Broadside's Brig). The jail door is made of normal bricks and four brick high flag poles. It is attatched to a strange flagpole with a Technic peg at the end. The pieces were used as ski poles in mid 80s technic sets. A small Imperial Guard flag is stuck in the peg.
A red rowboat is also included with the set. A lone Pirate mans it and is supposed to be captured by the Guards and put in the prison. However, he could be a spy or slave, or anything else you want him to be.
The set is a 100% must-have for Pirate collectors. Castle fans can also benefit from it by gaining a lot of Castle pieces like the tower top and two corner wall pieces -- all in white. One of the corners even shows red bricks, giving the impression of a stucco finish. This is just an all around awesome set.
