6110 The die is cast. Attacks by the mutant Stingray forces have accelerated the progress of cyborg technology to create an army of superhuman protectors. Humanitarian protests continue in the major cities but at a sub-surface hydro facility the first patient awakens from his physiology-altering operation. Micro respiratory-enhancers embedded in his flesh can be felt despite the anesthesia, but more noticeable than anything is the added physical strength the marine feels coursing through his body. Protective restraints snap and dangle uselessly as the super soldier arises from his bed!

I deliberated for the longest time the purchase of a Hyrdonauts set. Pictures of the mini-figs looked very cool but none of the models in particular attracted me. At last I decided that I needed to get my hands on a mini-fig and since the 6110 set is fairly inexpensive, I took the plunge.
The 6110 solo sub is only 22 pieces and while I'd usually pay two or three dollars for a set this size, I ended up paying more than four! (I'm thinking the slightly-above-average price is due to the inclusion of the large cockpit element.)
The sub is basically an enclosed cockpit with a propeller attached to the rear. An additional assembly (of only three pieces) attaches to the back of the Hydronaut and looks like either some kind of propulsion system or large spotlights. The model itself is a disappointment when compared to other sets of this size. It isn't a neat looking model and the sum of usable building elements isn't impressive either.
The most unique element here is the 6x6x3 cockpit piece which allows a 6x6 dome to be mounted at an angle. Other interesting pieces include the clear green dome and propeller element. My favorite piece, however, is the mini-fig and helmet. The face is kind of menacing-looking and his helmet is a very cool chrome/bluish color with a different design from previous Aquazone apparatuses.
In conclusion, I wasn't overly pleased with the set but when the price goes down for clearance it will be a worthwhile buy for the mini-fig alone.
