6135 Ever since the technologically impaired Aquanauts had been wiped out by the Stingray forces, stealing crystals had become much much harder for the dwindling Aquashark clan. The Aquanauts had been entirely obliterated, leaving other clans to take over. One such clan was the Stingrays, who always posted guards and always launched attacks. Because they never had to work for crystals until now, it looked like the Aquasharks had finally met their match.

When I first saw the Aquasharks line back in 1995, I knew I would love it. But I was disappointed that only two sets were made, so I was thrilled when an additional two were released the next year. I wanted to get the larger Crystal Cave but it was too expensive so I went ahead and bought this little set.

The Spy Shark is about half the size of the Deep Sea Predator and includes mostly the same standard Aquashark stuff: mounted harpoons, the ugly pre-printed canopy, and the five sided fin. The front is the cockpit and a mini-fig with a green hook for a hand sits inside. The hook is pretty spiffy, but I think it would have been much better had it been chrome. The mini-fig steers with a 1x2 computer tile.
The back is built up using numerous plates and inverse slopes. A good source of bricks. On top is a fin included in many Town Flight sets. The very back has two orange propellers mounted to some bent octagonal pipes. Two harpoons are mounted on either side of the sub. Floodlights adorn the nose.

All in all, this is a great little set to have on your Aquashark fleet. It is fairly inexpensive, so buy a few if you can to build up your forces. It has already been discontinued, so you'd be lucky to find them in stores.

There is a great selection of pieces for alternate models and the set has a speedy look to it. However, it is flawed in some spots. The cockpit isn't enclosed, the canopy is a little big for a set this size, and it is also pre-printed with an ugly shark head.
