6931 The pursuit had gone on long enough. Something had to be done about this madness! An unmarked star fighter has been caught up with by an Intergalactic Space Police vessel and now it was being chased by three "LL" class war cruisers. Even though the pilot was not a viloent man by nature, he finally took drastic measures. Not wanting his secret organization to be known about, he banked right, and headed straight towards a star, leading the four ships as he went. He then did something totally unexpected. Two shots were fired from the unmarked vessel as it did a 180 turn and headed straight to his pursuers at full tilt. He didn't fire a single shot. He didn't have to. The star suddenly exploded in a wild fury, leaving nothing left of the four ships that had been chasing him.

What a set! This is one of the few sets produced by Lego to be so extraordinarily great! The FX Star Patrol is a medium to large sized space ship with about a hundred nifty gadgets and moving things.
The front of the ship is where I will start. It is a semi spacious cockpit covered by a blue canopy. A small computer is inside. On the nose of this cockpit is a ridiculously large laser array. Four huge guns are present. This in itself is enough of an arsenal for the enire ship, but wait! There's more! At the back of the cockpit are two good sized missiles! Well, I think they are supposed to be thrusters, but oh well. In addition to these, the entire cockpit can separate from the rest of the ship using a Technic pin.
The hind section of the ship is a large cargo bay. The entire inside is hollow and holds a small six wheeled ground vehicle manned by a robot. The vehicle is pretty simple: a computer, a 2x2 brick, a laser, and a jetpack. The robot is made of normal bricks and hinges. The outside of the rear section is also the part that holds the main wings of the ship. They are both identical and each have two thrusters and both are hinged. The top of the cargo area has an enourmous tail fin with an impressive look to it. Two small missiles/thrusters sit on top and two short antennae border it.
The set overall is fantastically designed and has tons of playability. The inclusion of the deattatching cockpit, the storage compartment, the land rover, and the huge amount of firepower make this set just about flawless. The only things wrong are that the cockpit is exposed underneath and that the tube from one of the plates in the assembly which allows the cockpit to fly off rubs a tile on the rear section, creating a ring. This isn't a big complaint, but if you are the type who can't stand having their pieces less than perfect, then I wouldn't reccomend pulling the cockpit off and putting it back on too much.
